Privacy Policy
1. In one line
RaccoonDown does not know what you download. Only if you opt in at install time does it send an anonymous install ID and aggregate counts.
2. What we never collect
- Downloaded links, titles, file names or save locations
- IP addresses, names, e-mail addresses or any other personal identifier
- Site usernames or passwords. The in-app sign-in window is the site's own official page and your credentials go straight to that site. Session cookies stay on your PC and are handed to the download engine only as a local file path. Nothing is sent elsewhere.
3. Collected only with your consent
“Send anonymous usage statistics” in the installer is off by default. If you turn it on, the following is sent:
- An anonymous install ID (random string, not linkable to you), app version and Windows version — once a day
- On each completed download: site name, format (video / photo / audio) and quality — counted as +1, nothing else
This is used only to decide which site support to fix first and which versions are in use. You can turn it off at any time in Settings.
4. Storage
Aggregates are stored on Cloudflare (United States). Only totals are kept, never individual events, and nothing is shared with third parties beyond operating the service.
5. This website
www.raccoondown.com uses no tracking cookies or analytics scripts. The hosting provider (Cloudflare) may keep short-lived server logs for security.
6. Changes
Updates are posted on this page with a new effective date.
